What reading level is The Letters of the Late James Fawcus Md for Private Circulation book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

I am not sorry to leave Calcutta, for it is soon seen, and although a pleasant enough place to live in, ceases to be interesting when known. The people are fond of display, and ride and drive about in splendid carriages in a place called "The Maidan, " very like Hyde Park and Eotten Eow. Every evening this drive is crowded with carriages with beautiful but awfully lazy-looking ladies. We have had a fine passage across the bay; so hot that I slept every night on the boards of the deck in my shir...t and white trousers. We passed by the Andaman Islands, but too far off to see them well. Several times we have passed little solitary verdant islands in mid-ocean, uninhabited except- ing by monkeys, who eat their cocoa-nuts undisturbed from year to year. There is only one first-class passenger beside myself. He is a Cockney who kept an old curiosity-shop in Piccadilly, and is now on his way to collect curiosities in Japan. There is a young German second-class passenger who has been nearly everywhere (among other places, the interior of South America) gaining a living by playing the accordion.
