The radium atom disintegrates in- to infinitesimal particles to which science has given the name of electrons, and, as the elec- tron appears to be always in a high state of vibration, science conceives of it farther as not matter at all but whirls or ' ' vortex-rings ' ' formed within that impalpable substance to which it gives the name of ether.
