What reading level is The Mentally Defective Child Written Specially for School Teachers And Others I book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

Shortly afterwards began to have fits most probably Jack- sonian epilepsy. The fits persist but are very slight. Cannot talk properly, but her mother manages to understand what she wants. Has fits of " fidgets, " when nothing will soothe her but gentle stroking of the legs and feet. Manages to let her mother know when the calls of nature need attention. Picks things to pieces, but quite innocently, and not with any really malicious destructiveness. Is a body-rocker ; tempera- ment usually quiet... and apathetic, though at times somewhat querulous and restless. No apparent physical defect. Classed as epileptic imbecile, but admission to an institution where an operation could be per- formed for removal of pressure of brain recommended, this being the only chance of preserving the child from permanent imbecility.
8. H. N. , aged 4. Father died of tuberculosis. Mother gave queer answers to many questions, and could not safely be classed as quite sane. One brother died of fits : two sisters bodily and mentally in good condition : father's father died in asylum : mother's father committed suicide.
