To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

112 THE SUNDAY-SCHOOL TEACHERS SCHOOL 5. The Relation of the Adult Class in the Sunday-school to the Church As already pointed out, the adult class should be a regular part of the Sunday-school, and not an independent organization. Now and then the adult class feels that it is independent of both Sunday- school and church, and wants to direct its whole work and be subject to nobody. This is all wrong. The adult class should realize that it is a part of the church work. As such it is responsible
... to the church and, through the Sunday-school, should report its work to the church. It should glory in this relation- ship. It should respond to every call made upon the church. There is a call for specific religious edu- cation which, as already pointed out, the adult class should meet for the church. There is also the evangelistic call. It is coming to be seen that the work which is going to take the world for the church is preeminently Sunday-school evangelism. Our great evangelistic movements, when they have done the best that they can, simply touch the fringe of the people, while the great masses of our cities move on to destruction and death.
