That was where I drove to after work that day, and even though Hendricks and the possible second man remained on my mind, I stood in the garden for a time and stared down the hill towards the estate, picking the waste ground out from between the surrounding buildings. It was totally deserted this evening, and yet even from a distance, it unnerved me. The sight of it brought the images and feelings from my nightmare out into the real world. The fast-moving clouds.
