BuKNHAM, December 16, 1840. I was very sorry to miss seeing you during the three days I have just passed in London, but I shall return to London on Monday next, and shall not come hither any more. IIEPOET OF HIS STUDIES. 137 his works display. He is, however, excessively difficult, and the process of reading him is slow, almost to tediousness.
