The Goings, the old and young William, emigrated from Kentucky, in the year 1794, and erected a station a short distance south-west of the Bellefontaine. In this Fort, John Pulliam located himself and family, in the year 1796. Some other families likewise, were tenants of this station this year.
Both father and son were blacksmiths, and the younger was a man of considerable talents. The old gentleman was a plain man, except when he became excited with tqffia. Then he was a rough customer.
