Under Order 22, rule 3, it has been decided by J. Lindley, at Chambers, in A tkins v. Taylor, W. N. 1876, p. 11, that this Rule overrides Order 19, rule 2, and the Defendant must deliver a state- ment of defence within eight days after the date of the order giving him leave to defend, although no statement of claim has been delivered, other- wise the Plaintiff may take a judgment by default.
