In order to make this a lawful plan, either the yard should be enlarged 5" in width or the inner courts should be made 27' 10".
As the principal good points in this plan may be mentioned the great simplicity of form which at once does indicate a good distribution of rooms. The halls and corridors contain a small floor area. The four apartments being exactly identical in plan, and equal in size, will be considerably cheaper in construction on account of dupli- cation of all details. The bedrooms... are placed on street and yard, same as in former plan, in the most favorable location. The living rooms are of large size and are well placed although located on the inner courts.
The general objection against the use of inner courts will be raised against this plan and need not be mentioned in future. Unless connected with street by a suffi- ciently large opening, so as to insure proper air currents in the courts, all inner courts must be considered unfit for locating thereon living rooms and bedrooms.
