It is not necessary to speculate as' to whether, quite apart from the doctrinal views involved, the new order would have been to the ultimate interest of the University and the nation. Judged by its im- mediate results, the work of the Visitors marks an improvement in many aspects of the University life, and to that extent, at all events, must be considered a success.
