Mr. JoHXSox presented the following petition from the Wasliington Fire Company, wliich was referred to the committee on Fire Companies: To John M. Scott, Esq. President, and Members of the St led Council of th...e city of Philadelphia, The undersigned, a committee ap|>ointed by the Wa^ilngton Fire Company, beg leave to lay before the Honourable the Select Council, the following preamble and resolution . Adopted by said company, and respect- fully solicit an appropri;ition of money to be appUed to the purchase of a suitable Bell to be rung in time of fire, and to be located in the S. W. . Section of -the city. The committee presume to hope, that the same liberality will be extended to the people in this district, which has been so recently granted to those of the North AVcstern section.
