There are two frontoparietal plates. The back and sides are covered with small, smooth, granular scales. The ventral plates are large and arranged in both transverse and longitudinal series. The legs and tail are very long; the latter, slender and provided with large scales, which are keeled above but smooth below. The eye has well developed lids and a round pupil. Large ear-openings are present. One strong and sev- eral weaker folds cross the throat. Femoral pores are present.
