“Ready when you are, Vic,” the dark-haired man said quietly. He cocked both hammers of the double-barrel twelve-gauge in his lap.
“Hit the gas, Mike,” the little bald man said.
The car squealed away from the curb, roared up the block. It came to a screaming halt opposite Fletch Monaghan. Monaghan knew instantly that something was wrong, clawed at the revolver on his hip. He had it clear, firing when the .45 and the shotgun belched flame from the side of the car.
