While all this was being done by the Kawasaki workers, the laborers in the Mitsubishi yards were demonstrating and rioting, eventually suffering a lockout. For two weeks the strike went on and finally, July 29th, while visiting shrines en masse the paraders turned off from their regular line of march, moving toward the Kawasaki docks, where a bloody riot took place. One man was mortally wounded and forty or fifty others se- riously hurt.
