Ho ! May ! to Buena Vista ! for the enemy is near, And we have none there who can stop their vehement career.
Still swelling, downward comes the tide Porter and Yell are slain ; Marshall before him drives a part, but still they charge in vain ; And now, in wild confusion mixed, pursuers and pursued, On to Saltillo wildly drift, a frantic multitude.
