In this later conciliatory letter there is no longer any thought of 'avenging disobedience. ' See on v. 3 and on i. 23 for other facts of a similar kind. The three taken together make a strong case; and the three come within a small section of the letter, i. 23— ii. Ii. Had we more of the lost letter, there would probably be more of such phenomena.
