What reading level is The Speeches of the Hon Hugh C Wallace American Ambassador to France 1919 19 book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

I have never been more convinced of this essen- tial truth than during my walks abroad in Paris. When I arrived, the war was over, but the terms of peace had yet to be presented. France was triumphant but weary. She had fought her way to victory through years of suffering which spared no one. Her fair fields were devastated, her cities wrecked and many of her ancient landmarks toppled into ruin. Her heroic sons had perished in hundreds of thousands, and thousands were wounded almost unto death.
... When peace came, on every side were seen the halt and the blind, the sick, the weary. And yet on every face a smile ; for France was victorious. They had helped to win her battles and were now free to aid in her restoration. From the stricken fields where they had fought for France they came home to work for France — as they are working today, side by side with their well brothers and the glorious womanhood of the nation, which will serve in peace as it served in war — fit wives and mothers for a race of heroes.
