" A long charge from the steward preceded the presentment (Harl. 6380, fol. 67; Add. MS. 6713, fol. 71), in which the jury was charged to de- clare a long list of offenders, includin...g such manorial offences as the breaking of the assize of bread and ale.

In Saxony the old miners' assemblies had fallen into disuse by the later Middle Ages (Schmoller, Jb. , xv, 1015) and in Tyrol by 1490-1556 (ibid. , 1016). In some parts of Austria, however, they survived until a later date {ibid. , 1016).
