She wore a petticoat of blue broadcloth, bor- dered by rows of bright ribbon. Her jacket of black silk was covered in front with silver but- tons and brooches. Strings of white and purple wampum were around her neck, and the plaits of her yellow hair were hung with beads. Leg- gins of scarlet cloth and moccasins of deer skin, embroidered with colored porcupine quills, com- pleted her beautiful costume.
