What reading level is The University of Illinois Trustees Invisible Statewide Candidates volume O book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

When added to our own results of 6 in 1978 and 10 in 1980, these differences suggest that, while senatorial races are affected by the particu- lar candidates more than are offices of treasurer, comptroller, or trustees, as they were in 1972 and 1980, they also may not be far removed from the party norm. A modest test of this thesis is provided by the fact that in 1978 the successful candidate for secretary of state was Alan Dixon, who won 74 percent of the vote against a particularly weak Repub...lican opponent. In 1980 he was the Democratic candidate for the U. S. Senate, while again successful, his margin of victory had now shrunk to 57 percent.
Presidential candidates also display considerable continuity with the support given trustees. During the 1970s there was only one instance, in 1972, when there was a sharp deviation between the votes gained by the presidential candidate and those for the trustees. This was observed earlier with Eisenhower's sweep in 1956 and Johnson's in 1964.
The similarity in outcome between trustee votes and those of other offices is clearest for the comptroller and treasurer -20- Table 7 1978 and 1980 Election Results Compared With Top Trustee Difference of % Percent From Top Republican Vote U of I Trustee 1978 Governor 60 12 Attorney General 65 17 Secretary of State 26 22 Treasurer 47 1 Comptroller 47 1 U.
