He said " it * I wrote this statement to Judge Edmonds, apropos of the trial of Mumler in New York, charged with fraudulently pretending to make photographs of spirits long departed a charge which he refuted by evidence, which the presiding magistrate (not a Spiritualist) deemed sufficient to justify his discharge.
