When I passed by Dowlutabad, in these, comparatively speaking, peaceable times, the family of the killahdar (governor) were kept as hostages at Hyderabad. This want of fidelity in the superior oflScers, and their rude mode of warfare, have given us the advantage in the field and in the cabinet.
