Jinrickshah is a miniature buggy drawn by a man or men, who go at the rate of five or six miles an hour and keep it up for forty miles ! I came over from Kioto to Yokohama in eight days. The distance is three hundred miles, and for each day one set of men performed the whole distance, merely stopping a few minutes every hour or so to eat rice or drink tea.
