If now then I mould profefs to believe that there is no more of divine authority in the Go- vernment of England, than in the Governments of America, a fample of which has been pro- duced ; and that the former is derived from the fame powers, by the fame means, and to the fame end, namely, the good of the whole, as the latter : I hope I (hall not be therefore ao counted an Infidel by the Church, nor an un- worthy Member of Society by the State.
