STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ) City and County of San Francisco, j 8 A. McNeil, being- duly sworn, deposes and says: That during the college term of 1884 and 1885 he was Professor of Materia Medica in the Hahnemann Medical College of San Francisco; that in 1884 he signed a diploma which was represented to be for one Chas. Taubner, of Sacramento; but that he did not know at that time, nor did he know until May, 188G, that said Taubner was not a previous graduate in medicine; nor was he ever told or given to understand, until some time in November, 188G, that said Taubner possessed a diploma showing him to be a graduate in Philosophy.
