At noo...n we reached the village of Wadgaju, where we refrefhed ourfelves and the horfes with food. That I might not be left behind by the caravan, I afked one of the company if he would allow me to ride his pack-horfe ; and he gladly agreed to the propofal. After we had left the village which belongs to the kingdom of Bahahara, or Baha- hora, we were obliged to alight from the horfes, and to drive them before us over a fteep hill. I now learned that we were not travelling by the accuftomed road, which led for the fpace of twenty or four and twenty German miles acrofs a coun- try, in palling which it would have been neceffary to carry with us much forage for the horfes.
