“When are you going to take me to get my license?” Sandra demanded, breaking in to get Mom’s attention. “You promised we’d go yesterday.”

“I asked first!” I said. “I’ve been waiting even longer!”
“Ka-pow!” Ty said, smacking Mom below the knee.
