The stir which our arrival created in the manage of the hotel was such as to bring the master, the wife, the servants, the men and the maids, all away from their work to hover about us like so many flies, and to take, each, an individual and fee-anticipating part in the setting of a diminutive table — by the window of the table d'hote which overlooked the river.
