To one who is in the strong, full current of undergraduate life, or who has felt the ardent and progressive spirit which dominates the Fac- ulty in the work of the various departments, or in ...the more general concerns of college policy, the charge that Princeton is not in sympathy with modem pro- gress can only provoke a smile.
And yet there is a sense in which Princeton does not object to the charge of conservatism. The College of New Jersey is peculiarly fortunate in her traditions. She was founded and nurtured by men fired with the spirit which guided the two most important revolutions in the history of Knglish-speaking peoples.
