And benefit is not to be paid if a member refuses to accept suitable work offered to him through the administration of the association to which he belongs. Ii2 UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE. A person is not to be entitled to benefit until he has been a member of the association for twelve months, and has paid his contributions. 1 Special provision is made for the case of persons transferred from one fund to another. The rate of benefit is not to be less than 6f^. A day or more than 2s. 2%d. It must be... paid for at least seventy days in a year if the member continues unemployed. But in certain cases the Minister of the Interior may recognise associations which have a maximum period of benefit of only fifty days. A maximum limit is not fixed to the period for which benefit may be paid. Benefit may be in the form of daily pay, of travelling benefit, of assistance towards the payment of rent, or may be given in kind : some associations also grant payments towards the cost of removal in the case of a member who moves to another district where he has obtained, or has good prospect of obtaining, work.
