All paper money in circulation is drawing an interest, or revenue out of the labor of the producers of wealth ; conse- quently, if, as is the case in this country, the paper currency costs them fifty millions of dollars a year, and, if the cur- rency should be increased to double its present quantity, it is certain that a hundred millions of dollars would be drawn out of the produce of those who do all the labor.
