The UARC distributed objects could be passed to the X-Windows system, or any other system supporting distributed objects, and the display software for the objects can be developed sepa- rately. This allows us to maintain the foundation of the collaboratory and the rapid prototyping devel- opment environment with a clean separation from the user display environment. It is this approach that we feel will be the most effective and efficient for more general future extension of the UARC to addition...al users.
