One of the pr...incipal causes of fires is by the escape of sparks from engines and, therefore, the legislature has requir- ed all logging, railroad locomotive and threshing engines op- erated in or near forests or brush, which do not burn oil as fuel, to be provided with spark arrestors to prevent the es- cape of sparks from the smoke stacks and also with devices to prevent the escape of fire from ash-pans and fire-boxes. It is unlawful for any electric lighting or power company to at- tach any wires or other lighting appliance to any tree along any street of any town or city in this State.
