Beneath these elevated seats there sat, or reposed on the floor of the hall, such favourites ad were admitted.
The Patriarch Zosimus, and one or two old men, were permitted the use of certain lowly stools, which were the only seats prepared for the learned members of the Prin- cess's evening parties, as they would have been called in our days.
