It will be noticed that the date of his return coin- cides with that of the establishment of the Dean and Chapter of Winchester. Now in the " Boke of Portyons, " dated 28th April, 1541, which is still preserved in the Cathe- dral Library, we have a list of the twelve original " petycanons. " Among them, the last on the list, we find the name of " Thomas Dackhinson, " a ''secular priest.
