That which seems to be the harbor is a narrow "tickle" or passage between Battle Island and Great Caribou Island. The settlement of Bat- tle Harbor is small, on little Battle Island which is a mile long. About ten families live here per- manently, but during the summer the population is considerably increased by Newfoundland fisher- men and visitors. The Mission buildings are grouped together toward the middle of the island near the shore and consist of a hospital and a few storehouses.
