He who inspired the Prophecies of Christ and of His Church in the Book of Psalms — Who provided that Church, with a Manual of wor- ship — provided also that it should be conveyed in the only form of poetry suitable to make it universal. Therefore, the Psalms can pass from tongue to tongue without de- struction of their essential character.
