What reading level is Women of All Nations, a Record of Their Characteristics, Habits, Manners, Customs And Influence; book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

By means of bribery Mr. BrowTi got permission from the chief to see the girls, though it is tabu for any men, not their own relations, to look at them ; and the old woman who acted as guardian, and the girls themselves, were evidently afraid of the consequences of disregarding the pro- hibition. He tried to inspect the interior of one of the cages, but the atmosphere was so hot and stifling that he could scarcely put his head inside. He asked if the girls ever died during their long confinement
..., and was answered negatively ; if they are ill they are not allowed to emerge.
Modified forms of the custom occur in different parts of the island and in New Britain, and an analogous custom is found in Fiji, though in none of these places does the confinement seem to be so severe.
In New Britain, when a boy is about four- teen, his uncle buys a girl of eight from her mother to be a wife for his nephew; and later on the marriage takes place, with the giving of feasts which form the necessary accompaniment in all orthodox weddings.
