Nachdem wir so die verschiedenen * linearen Formen Sex -{- b, welche den Teilern der Formel t^ + 2cu^ zukommen, bestimmt haben, können wir beweisen, dafs jede in diesen Formen enthaltene Primzahl notwendig ein Teiler von ^* + 2cw* ist. Denn ist z. B. Ä von der Form 8w + 3 und c von der Form 4n + 1, so hat man (No. 200): y—j = 1, und daher (-^j = 1. Femer ist wegen der Form der Zahl A: y-jj = — i, also (—7-^) = 1; mithin ist A ein Teiler von fi + 2cu\ Die andern Fälle werden in derselben Weise bewiesen.
