This is a revelation.
This is something beyond the powers of man to know or conceive. That this body which we deposit in the ground, and by know actual observation to moulder away and turn into original elements, should again come forth to new life and strength and beauty, transcendently surpassing what it was before ! — this is all out of the reckoning and forecast and comprehension of the unaided human mind. Yet this is what the Apostle asserts in this chapter, this is what all the Apostles p...reached as a grand peculiarity of the gospel, and this is what they declared Christ preached, having given an earnest by his own Resurrection.
" For this corruptible (body) must put on incorruption, and this mortal (body) must put on immortality." And when this shall have taken place, then Death shall be " swallowed up" — clean annihilated — " in victory." 1 Cor. 15 : 54.
" Who (Christ) shall change our vile body, that it (this 9 very body) may be fashioned like unto his glorious body," and he shall do it by the power wherewith he is " able to SUBDUE all things unto himself." Phil.
