Prochownick during a journey throuffh England was struck with the small number of women in all classes of society who exhibited pendulous abdomens, and attributed, withou...t doubt correctly, the greater frequency of this condition in his own country to the neglect of precautions after delivery to maintain the tone of the abdominal muscles and to reduce as much as possible the size of the abdominal cavity.
