§ 531. Substance of Accounts. — The questions relating to the rendering of administration accounts have already been somewhat examined, in considering the questions as to assets, payment of debts and legacies and distributive shares, and other similar topics, and it will not be necessary to enlarge upon these subjects, since an accounting is merely a brief statement of the manner in which the executor or administra- tor has performed the duties of his office in collecting the estate and making payments to those who are entitled, — creditors, legatees or distributees, and so forth.
