On account of that construction in addition to a small cash payment they issued bonds to themselves to the amount of $33, 722, 000, and stock to the amount of $49, 005, 800, making a total issue of $82, 727, 800, of which $55, 539, 554 represented inflation.
Then, as directors of the Central Pacific, they took leases of their own lines for the Central Pacific for $3, 490, 828.
