Over this there is a stone tablet, nth the following brief passage from the Scriptures : "I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE ; HE THAT BELIEVETH IN ME, THOUGH HE WERE DEAD, YET SHALL HE LIVE." The vault was constructed as it is seen at present, dth the exception that the simple words '^ Washington ^amili/" originally appeared upon a cap-stone, which be building of the antechamber made it necessary to Bmove.
