Lightning Tail shifted beside him. The forest cat’s musky scent seemed strange to Gray Wing now. Leaf and Reed fidgeted in the shadows behind them.
Leaf and... Lightning Tail had volunteered to join the patrol when Gray Wing had traveled to Thunder’s camp to discuss his plan. Who knew what state they’d find Star Flower in?
Lightning Tail wrinkled his nose. “Are you sure this is the place?”
Gray Wing kept his gaze fixed ahead. “Fern said it was.”
Leaf glanced over his shoulder uneasily.

that's what i thought they didn't even go to the moor or the forest yet for some reason i read "the first battle" before any of the others (spoiler alert btw) i was so sad when turtle tail died it was the worst thing in the whole book (other than ember kit's death) why couldn't clear sky or tom die. sorry there are so many spoilers in this omg

I like the book but I thought that quiet rain died in another book and was dead. It was still really good though.

she died in a later book dingus. if you thought she died in a book you've read then you have obviously read a book after this one with in witch she had died (does that make sense cuz it does to me) i'm a bitch i know this alright

helped move the heavy stone in the four trees hollow and watched as Clear Sky, Gray Wing, Jagged Peak, Sun Shadow, and Tall Shadow had laid Quiet Rain to rest beneath it. The old she-cat’s body was safe now from prowling foxes, finally at peace after her long journey and painful sickness.He’d been privately glad to leave grief behind and return to the ravine. His friends had welcomed him happily, listening solemnly as he’d shared the news of Quiet Rain’s death, and murmuring with surprise when he’d told them that Gray Wing had left Tall Shadow’s group to return to the moor. I hope he has finally found his true home.
Thunder had never regretted leaving Clear Sky’s group and starting his own. Leaf, Pink Eyes, Owl Eyes, Lightning Tail, and Milkweed were loyal and brave, and he was grateful that they’d decided to come with him to the new camp. For the first time, Thunder was where he felt he belonged. On the moor, Gray Wing’s kindness had never eased Thunder’s craving for the love and approval of his father, Clear Sky. In Clear Sky’s camp, he’d never felt fully accepted. Now he knew that he no longer needed either of them. He was guided only by the needs of his group. They depended on him, and he was determined not to let them down. He was a leader.
