They were also saved from the general distress — " the 148 PRIMITIVE CHRISTIANITY overflowing scourge of tlieir nation, " — from " tri- bulation such as never was, or ever shall again be." " For he will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness ; because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
