...ease in the number of water-supply and drainage proposals has rendered necessary an increase in the Sanitary Engineer's staff which now consists of myself, four Assistant Sanitary Engineers, one personal assistant, twelve surveyors and twenty-seven members of the drawing office.
4. The investigation and drawing up of schemes for water-supply and drainage works is solely undertaken in the Madras Presidency by the Sanitary Engineer with the exception of those for the City of Madras which Corporation maintains its own engineer- ing staff.
