L., perhaps he had no car of his own in these distressed times !. The evident poverty of many an Irish gentleman and the struggle of his hospitality with that, was one of the most touching sights ; — in- viting, and even commanding respectful silence from the guest surely ; Shine Lawlor's " Castle-Lough " (I think he calls it) is a beautiful little place, in thick woods, close to " Roche's," and looking over the very lake, — though not from this parlour where we now were.
