The entry just quoted appears in the Accounts of the Lord High Treasurer of Scotland.
" A few months later, in July 1505, " continues Mr Crofton, " we find the Scottish king, James IV. , writing to the King of Denmark to commend Anthony Gagino, a lord of Little Egypt, who, with his retinue, had a few months previously reached Scotland during a pilgrimage through the Christian world, undertaken at the command of the Apostolic See. " This letter is preserved in the Eoyal Archives of Denmark, having still " remains of the seal impressed in red wax, and the inscription to King John.
