Perhaps a timber in a mighty craft; A rudder-head, a broken spar, a mast; The wreckage from an over laden raft; Or somewhere hi the dim forgotten past, A giant pillar standing in the flood, Where human traffic roared above the tide; Or a stalwart pile up-ended in the mud, Beneath a dock where trains of commerce plied.
